Singles
Being a single adult has many advantages. Being a single adult has many disadvantages. OK, Which is it? Actually it can be both. Being single has a certain amount of freedom that can really be nice. But what about the price we have to pay for that freedom.
The price for the freedom of singleness is loneliness. And loneliness is a terrible price to pay. But combatting loneliness comes at a high price as well. Sometimes those to whom we turn to avoid loneliness exact a terrible price for their company.
As Christians we should never pay a price too high. Jesus has already paid that price once and once is enough. So we need to come together in creative and fun ways to overcome lonliness.

John had been alone all of his life. There had never been a wife or even a serious relationship that could have led to marriage. Men are not supposed to have this trouble. The men on TV and in the movies moved from one girl to the next with no problem at all.
John was left to wonder, "What is wrong with me?"

The marriage did not last nearly as long as she had hoped. The Pastor's words, "Till death do you part," were just something people said at a wedding. She never thought she would experience Tom's death.
She had been left with adequate insurance coverage. Tom saw to that. The house was paid for and there was money in the bank. But it wasn't enough. No amount of money could finance recovery for the pain she felt in her heart.
If there was just another person who understood; another person to talk with. Where could she find that someone?
A year ago, I couldn't spell divorce.
It was a word that I refused to hear, let alone beleive that I would ever experience. And I really don't know how it happened. I quit trying to place blame months ago; it didn't help
I know that I need to pick up the pieces and start all over again. I need to get on with my life. The problem is - I don't know how.
Is there anywhere I can turn to for real help?

As a former singles minister I truly have a heart for those in these types of situations. As one who found himself single again, that heart bleeds.
But there should be help. There should be a place to turn.
Good news, there is. I am interested in getting some single people together for a time of fellowship and sharing. This is not a dating service but rather a setting where real people, who are single, and have real issues can meet to talk about...whatever.
